I am selling my 2004 Yeti DH-9 frame size small that was retired in 2012 when I found a crack in the chainstay on the dropout side where the bearings are housed.I've held on to the frame for this many years, but now I realize that this frame could be used as parts for someone's project, or if someone has a replacement chainstay, the frame could be built up again.
I've measured the chainstay against my other DH-9, which is a size medium, and the chainstays are exactly the same size. So theoretically, the chainstay from any size could be used.
In preparation for selling the frame, I did a complete tear down (except for the two main pivots), clean up, and rebuild.
Aside from the cracked chainstay, the upper and lower droplink bearings need to be replaced.
Other than that, the frame is in good shape, well-ridden with the usual wear and tear on a downhill bike.
The back story to this frame is that I bought it from Dangerous Dan in 2005. It was new and never ridden. I built it up for my wife, and she loved that bike. When it was retired, we bought a second DH-9, which I am also selling. I'll provide a link to that bike when it is available.
I'm selling the frame with the original Progressive 5th Element shock, with a 500 pound spring.
