So whats the widest and what brands of tire anybody has gotten into the rear triangle of their SB95s? Currently Im using Michelin Wild Grip R 2.35 wide on both front and rear. Incredible tire but they don't do anything wider. My wheels are Velocity Blunt 35mm rims on Stans 3.30 hubs. Im usually riding in western North Carolina area with varied terrain going from fast and flowey to upper elevation raw rocky and nasty downhills.

Dude ... sorry you have not gotten a response. I also cannot answer your question because I am always trying to put no more than 2.2 on the back of my SB95. For me having the beef in the front is the way to go. I have been running a 2.2 Icon on the back and a 2.4 Ardent in the front, WTB i23's front/back and King hubs.
I ride Pisgah when I can. I live in central NC. Ride on ...

Hello. I have 5 rides on my new 2016 SB5C I went with the Ibis 741 carbon rims (35mm internal) On the front I have the new Maxxis DHF 2.5 (WT version) which is made for wide rims....best front tire I have ridden....a bit heavy at 945 grams but really inspires confidence....plenty of clearance with a pike non-boost fork--- I run it at 20 psi www.maxxis.com/catalog/tire-468-121-minion-dhfOn the rear I have a maxxis 2.4 Ardent with plenty of chainstay clearance. Good tire, rolls nice and light at 760 grams. O.K. grip, but not amazing.... I may try the DHR II (which comes in a 2.4 WT version) but weighs about 950 grams...I think any 2.5 tire would clear the back easily..... I'm waiting for more wide rim specific tires...as I think our choices will grow over the next year.... Happy Trails

Been using schwalbe hans dampf 2.35 on syntace w35 29 mm internal width rims for a while but in the muddy conditions it was rubbing the chainstay so I decided to went back to 2.25 nobby nic. Hans dampf on my rims is a monster tire - 61 mm on the knobs 59mm the casing. I don't think that you can using tire wider then 58mm on aluminium yeti sb95 in wet condition. Best regards
