Hello folks,
So having never used a full face lid, and seeing some rather detailed pics a mate took after doing the First Aid thing on a random guy at BPW who'd just demonstrated the face plant move like a king. I'm in the market as it were.
Throw in these 27.5 wheels and the 575's ability to make me feel I can have a go at anything ( despite me being in the throes of relearning to ride) and it seems like a wise move.
Thoughts and recommendations please folks

I would not go there. Be bold but not reckless and you will be fine. My SB95 definitely gives me the confidence that as long as I hold on and point it in the right direction it will see me through. But that is no reason to tempt fate. When I approach a feature that has "possible disaster" written all over it I ask myself .. I say, "Self? If we do this now are we confident we will be able to do it tomorrow?" If Self hesitates at all I go around or get off and walk through. No problems. My goal is always to be able to shred this line again tomorrow.
This of course is a hard lesson learned. I have plenty of scars and stories of failed attempts behind it.
I wouldn't get the full face lid if you aren't a full on down hill or free rider anyway. That full face lid is just going to serve to allow for a false sense of confidence and likely get you into trouble you would never have gotten into otherwise.
Just my 2 cents ..... ride on dude ... ride on ....

Hi John, I hear what your saying, and it fits with my own thoughts especially the hesitation piece, a moments doubt, equals something less that 100% commitment and that always going to hurt... Lesson learned the hard way .. Sadly I'm self aware enough to know my addiction is what the head shirkers and neuro science boffins are calling " the flow" I just figured it was a buzz and I had a screw loose or something, apparently tho I'm not nuts ? The lid is in part a confidence thing, but also practicality.. An attempt to keep the boyish good looks that have served me so well for almost 5 decades... It's also to alay the fears of my good and long suffering other half who tolerates my addiction regardless of its manifestation and understands that in my battered , lived in Carcass dwells an indestructible teen? Happy Trails

Look for one of these new convertible full face kids from Met, or Bell or similar. They are a good trail friendly lid.

Understood. My other half is so thrilled with the me that rides versus the one that doesn't she accepts that I do what I do and she does not get involved in terms of costume, time spent, or investment made. After you pass 5 decades, in my case 6, you do as you will and the rest be ... well you get the idea.
Go with your instinct. Always the best choice. Yeti Rocks!!
