Hi all.
Does anyone else get a clunk from the rear suspension on their SB66. Does the same with original shock and a new CCDB. Happens every time i squash the rear hard through the pedals, and if there's a line of roots or rocks its very annoying.

Sounds like your bumper stop is worn through (sometimes called the condom). The bolt is part 18 and its condom (bumper stop) is part 19.. on page 28 of the SB66 manual www.yeticycles.com/pdf/manuals/2013_OwnersManual_SB66.pdfEssentially your bottoming out your suspension a lot and the rubber bumper stop has worn away.. Andrew sells replacements in the store. Personally I think your possibly running too low pressure in the shock so it bottoms out too easily or your a big air guy landing hard. The bolt and bumper stop are there to stop the switch over rotating and the wheel hitting the seatpost. Anyway flip your bike over and take out bolt 18.. Google "worn SB66 bumper stop" for some photos..

Ordered, thanks for the help. Didn't expect it to wear out so quickly:-)

Ahh so it was worn through.. the most common cause IMO is too low rear shock air pressure or the rebound is too slow causing your suspension to pack down as you go over successive quick hits in a row... eventually bottoming out the suspension and bashing your bumper stop on the inside of the switch as your travel maxes out. Hence damaging the stopper.
Once I got my shock tuned properly I stopped eating them.

Gave it a good strip down today. Mainly because i wanted to check bearings were still okay (gets alot easier the second time doesn't it). Anyhow the bumper had gone, most likely in peices in the bottom bracket :-) Going to have a good read about ccdb shocks now, thought i had that sorted but maybe not.
