The track at Moelfre ws a bit poo and mostly covered in poo. Not worth the effort pushing up. If it was repaired a bit and the uplift was on it may turn into a good ride.

Which one could you do? 13/14 September 2008 - Moelfre - £30.00 + £5.00 for food 8/9 November 2008 - Moelfre - £30.00 + £5.00 for food
Let me know. Cheers

Probably the 13th 14th. Tbh there's better tracks out there for less It's not as long or interesting as Cwm Carn and if it turns windy or rains it will become almost unridable. I'd say try somewhere else but other than Cwm Carn it's a bit limited.

Just checked my diary and i'm busy on the 14th sept but have nothing on in november by the looks of it although it could be rubbish weather.

The track had the potential to be really good, but it was so beaten up from the NPS round and the bad weather. Also If you have an aversion to sheep nuts it's not the place to visit. It get's everywhere bike, kit and helmet not pleasant!
The views from the top were amazing and if it were tidied up I reckon it would be a real blast. To push to the top was a nightmare, not advised.
If I were you I'd make sure it was going to be buffed before the uplift days. Oh yes, It's a harder track than Cwmcarn, it can't be rolled you've got to give it some to get down the hill!

What I mean is, where at Cwmcarn the track allows you to follow the flow and there's a smooth line into almost all the obstacles. At Moelfre there is'nt, it's a brutal arm bustingly rough and scary track! Well it is at the moment anyway.
Some of the corners to drops were bloody scary. Me and Jeremy struggled on some of it and on the first run I almost shat myself.
I think you may have taken my previous post out of context.

So, what you are saying is that I should not do it?

It's rollable, but does have scarry bits. I'd say it's not as complicated as Cwm Carn and it doesn't feel as long. It doesn't work your upper body like Cwm Carn does but the places where you can go big need practice and guts. It would be a good ride but not if walking to the top comes in as it requires too much effort for the reward. Oh and like sas says you get lovingly coated in sheep manure.

No way J. Try by it all means,
What I'm saying is that it's currently not at it's full potential. And before travelling all that way and spending hard earned cash on it make sure that the organisers have repaired the track first. The rain damage is pretty bad because it's steep and not an entirely stoned surface.
It was ok when we were there but not really worth a 3 hour round trip.

I think we could have nailed it if we could get a few more runs in and we strapped the big boy pants on. Looking back the track is what we need, some hard core terrain. I can make the 13th for a day but i've got preplanned junk on the 14th.
