Just be carful which drive train you buy, there is 2 in the XTR M985 range. 1 is the M985 trail which has a normal Q-factor and then there is the race which has a different Q-factor, and with the 2nd one you require a certain front mech and doesn't fit certain frames. I am going through this problem at the moment of wether the drive train will fit my 575

I thought both trail and race were the same but with more machining on the race?
There is a difference between 2x10 and 3x10 as the centre of the chainset will need to be in a different place (2x10 is not 3x10 with a ring removed- it's a different spider).
