I need some help in recalling the name of the magazine (mt biking in general) which had an article about exercises one could do in order to maintain fitness for riding a mountain bike. It had illustrations with text beneath or to one side. About two-three pages. Was published in the last 4-6 months.

There was a good article in singletrack that covered two of the last three months issues about cycling fitness, and mixing long rides and interval training to increase cycling fitness. I'm generally of the opinion that if you want to improve your cycling, you are probably better off getting out on your bike than going to the gym...

best thing to do is if you have some free time go out on your bike and do some speed work and hill reps. with the speed work push a high gear for aset time then take it easy and repeat, and its the same on the hill work. as with all exercise set yourself targets and build up slowly you don't have to be out for a long time just make sure your putting in the effort.. then just add a some upper body weight training and your be fit as a butchers Dog !!
