Do we know if there is somewhere secure for the bikes if we stay at the YHA hostel?

Jon,
I have a pitch booked for the car and tent and will have room for three or four bikes (with front wheels off) in the Discovery overnight. I'll save a space for you if you need it.
I shall be asleep with one eye open and fist clenched ...
Andrew,
Question ? Are you guys planning to sort some disposible wristbands out for the weekend. It would help to identify the Tribe.
After Cwm Carn, where a few guys didn't stay because of security issues, it would be nice to be able to ping any 'visitors' loitering with intent.

Thanks for that, you are very kind (as usual). I will take you up on the offer of free personal security.
Andrew
I think it is a good idea to think about wrist bands or something as there will be a lot of high value kit knocking around.

Hmm, I understand what you guys are saying.
We have never had any issues in the past 9 meets, although some rough Welsh locations were not so good.
The pub will be open to regulars the same time as we are there, so I can't go handing them out wrist bands.
The location is miles into the middle of nowhere, look up Rattlinghope on google earth, see what's around! Nowt! As with other meets, I'd say don't be leaving your bike out of sight, and lock in your car, or your accommodation when you are not near it.
I changed the location I somewhere very quiet, when you get there I think you'll be impressed.
I will ask at the Hostel if they have bike storage, these places usually do.
Remember to get booked in, as we block booked the place, there will ONLY be Yeti people staying there.

Oh & the pub is very classy, so don't go thinking locals means chavs! It's certainly not that level!

First post.
I've put my name down. Will probably travel over on the Friday for a spot of camping. Wifey has threatened to attend as well on her Stumpy.

Rode around there recently + apart from a bit of snow in places, it was ace. Proper saw tooth profile rides. Sadly I'll be at Mayhem.

Hi all.
Just a quick update.
Looks like a 75 person turn out so far. If the weather is good, we could hit 100.
Plenty of organising going on right now, and we will have some nice swag items for you too.
There is a lot of interest from the MTB press, so expect to see some high quality mags show up. We are also excited for the Yeti museum inside the pub on the Saturday evening. It WILL be a display that even Yeti cannot beat! With some very rare and some one off bikes for you to check out. No riding them though!!
Not long now! Can't wait to show you all this MTB Mecca!

Desperate to go to my first tribe meet now I finally got my Yeti. Anyone heading down from Scotland? I am over in Ayrshire and have plenty of transport space (can take 5 x bike/peeps/luggage) but short on time.
Googlymaps saying 5 hours and I dont finish work till 6pm on Friday.

Really looking forward to my first meet also. I've had my 5 just a week and absolutely love it.
See you on the day

Anybody else having problems getting the YHA to reply regarding booking a bed for the night. I've phoned them and left messages and even emailed them. Still no response or answer?
Ahh well, another night in the van then! I should be able to squeeze between the bikes!!
What are the trails like where we're going Andrew? Full sus or hard tail? I dont wanna end up with too many bikes in the van.

I'll look onto that today.
Trails are smooth and mellow, but fun and fast.
The Sunday is Eastridge, I hear it's a tough 5/6 mile loop and red graded. I'm riding it in a weeks time.

There is another big campsite just about 1 mile away, see yetifan page for links.
