Cheers Andrew, I have just booked my pitch for the two nights - £15.00. With my nocturnal snuffling, I figured it would be better if I was outside, and downwind. Fred

Hi folks. As I may venture along this year, what can I expect? I hacve seen the pics on here, but was wondering if someone could give me a 'typical day at a Tribe Meet', especially around the riding... Is there a schedule, anything organised etc or do we just do our own thing type of thing..? Thanks in advance

Hi Guys,
You really should come along! We have a great weekend.
This year, as we are not at a trail centre, the rides will be a large group ride, a few of us know the way, so dont worry about getting lost or left behind. The guys that will lead (Sandy, Myself and others) are used to taking varied groups out on the hills. Sandy actually took about 65 people on this route(mostly) in December, so its pre tested if you like.
The age range of people who come along is from yougish, to our eldest who must be late 60's now, so you will be fine with the ride. Distance for the Saturday will be about 18 ish, with an optional loop depending on the weather, and who's up for it.
We are not planning to destroy everybody on the route, & we do want you to have a good time, so if you get back a bit tired, then its all good. If you have never ridden the Long Mynd before, its well worth the trip down!
Saturday night we will take over the Bridges Pub in Rattlinghope (Where we will be based all weekend), there is accomodation in the form of a Hostel next door, and camping is being arranged. You can also stay in Church Stretton, there are some great B&B's there, but you will need to drive up and over the Mynd to start the ride (about 6 Miles away from church Stretton)
On the Saturday, there is a BBQ (buy your own food) being sorted at the Bridges Pub, on the Friday the pub will serve meals as normal.
Don't worry about not knowing other people, plenty of forum regulars will turn up, as with MTBing in general, there will be a lot to talk about after we take you down some awesome singletracks!
the guys from Silverfish will be there, Sandy who runs the UK Yeti Gravity team will be there, I hear that Scott Beaumont will be along too...............
There should be some cool old & new bikes to look at, and we have a few special little touches for the weekend you should like.
I hear that there could be some special Tribemeet 2012 swag being organised too.
For contact info regarding the hostel, check the page on the main site.
Check back for camping info too!
See you there!

Spot on Andrew .. For my brief input, see my old and brief match report fred-simpson.blogspot.com/2010/09/cwm-carn-yeti-uk-tribemeet-2010.html which sums it up from a typical weekend rider's point of view. There's another one on the blog from the previous year too (we missed 2011). You'll even spot Andrew trying to keep up with Roden on one of the pics. I'm pretty sure Roden is a little older than me, but a bit quicker up the hills. See you (all) there I hope. FF

You just did Andrew! And I know you mean it cos you held a gate open for me once you know. You were decending from Hope X to Jaggers Clough and I was going up on my old 575... So generous you see!

Hi Guys, I'm just wondering if you know that the weekend you have picked for the meet is also the Mountain Mayhem weekend? Now I've got a problem as I'd like to do both.

It's the only available weekend for us I am afraid. There is always going to be a clash somewhere.
