Hi All, Spent a lot of time trying to convince myself that I didn't need a 25th 575 and there was nothing wrong with my current 575, but I caved in. So here's the starting point for the project, hopefully there will be pictures of a 25th 575 by the end of all this. Current bike: I'll be trading in the frame, headset and forks against the 25th kit. In theory this is all I'll need in addition to make the switch, an e-type front mech and new gear cable, hopefully it won't be long before King release the axle upgrade so I can convert my current hub and make use of the 142 x 12 system: These are the parts carrying over: These will be going on ebay: And this is going to the shop tomorrow morning: Leaving the stem and post in, should make it easier for the shop to press the headset and trim the steerer, I'll be doing the rest of the build myself as usual. I'll try and get a weight for the new set up vs the old set up while in the shop and post an update tomorrow. If anybody wants to know anything specific, or ask anything let me know.

Got back from the shop this morning and had everything built up for 1pm. observations: 1)didn't get a shock pump, no biggy, but at this price.... 2)E-type front mech has been a revelation for me in ease of set up and number of gears I can use, I can't remember any bike where I could use the full range of the cassette and have no chain rub at the front in middle. 3) Run the rear mech cable BEFORE fitting the chainset, ended up having to remove the chainset. 4) The yellow is pretty much the same as my 303, maybe slightly deeper, you decide see below. 5) Much heavier than the previous build, didn't get to weigh it yet, also much stiffer in the rear. Will know more when I've been out for a proper ride tomorrow.

Hi
First ride done now, quick inital impressions.
1) Saddle, seems OK, still not sure! 2) Rear end is a world of difference in terms of stiffness, feels like the back wheel is now a part of the bike!, ( issue I hadn't appreciated on the previous version.) 3) Overall the bike feels very solid and a very well evolved product, very stable on downhill sections and tracks very well. 4) Suits my riding style better, but for some I suspect the ASR 5 maybe a more naturally successor to the previous versions of the 575, this 2011 model now feels much more planted and capable of much more serious terrain.
Really, really happy so far.
