Heres a question for the crew out there..........
I've just built up an 06 ASR-sl (12 months old 2nd hand frame) - I think this is a brake problem not a frame problem but just want to bounce this off people in case some one else has had this issue also.
All the kit was running sweet on the old frame, and now its all on the new - i'm experiencing extreme brake howl, not just squeal, but HOWL with full on vibration through the whole bike.
I've bleed the brakes, put on new pads, faced the disc mount, cleaned up rotor, used copper-cote on back of pads and rotor at mounting etc etc, last thing left is to try a diff wheel and/or brake to try to isolate issue (possibly wheel bearings but they appear good??) - appreciate its not unusual for things to appear after a re-build
i'm running hope and formula wheels/brakes - as i said think its a brake issue but interested to know if its an isolated problem or something i don't know about that people have experienced before

HI,
Looks like you have gone through all the possible causes.
The rotor is in good condition? no cracks? and the hub face is clean where the rotor fixes?
The anti rattle spring in the pads is OK, and has not got caught or bent at all?

Let us know if you have any luck with that.
You could ring Howard at Bromley bike co, he knows everything there is to know about these types of thing.
