Hi to all,
I am new to the site and have a question regarding the 08 575. After a demo on several bikes I had made my mind up to get the 08 575 but after reading a review on a US web site I became concerned about the rear tyre clearance. At the moment I use Hutchinson 2.3 Tubeless Spiders and have been informed that there may be some rear clearance issues so I should think about swapping to a Panaracer rampage 2.3 tubed tyre or consider running a 2.1 tubeless tyre.
As like most riders I have a favourite tyre and a preference to use a 2.3. Can anyone shed some light on my concerns before I place an order for the 08 575.

HI, I have tried a Conti Vertical 2.3 and just swapped to a Maxxis Ignitor UST 2.35 with 819 rims, I ride in one of the muddiest places known to man, and so far no problems, no tyre rub, and I can fit my finger down the side of the tyre.
From the pictures it looks like the cross brace on the swing arm gives no clearance, but it acts like a fin that cuts any big lumps of mud off.
I have had my 08 since October, and its not clogged once. I think there is less room inside the Fox forks to be honest.
Its not an issue.
If you ride somewhere VERY muddy, you use mud tyres, they are narrower, if you ride with normal tyres, I'd say you won't ever clog it up.

Hi I use Conti' Verts 2.3, these seem a narrow tyre for a 2.3 , the main body of the tyre is a 2.0, I think they get the 2.3 from measuring the widest part of the tread. These tyres work fine with my 08 575.

Thanks for the info,
LL at Nottingham will be building up the 08 575 for me, they have just built up a medium demo in silver, they say that they will fit whatever tyres I want so that I can check the clearance issues myself. LL at Notingham have built up all my previous bikes and they have been great. I already have a 575 built late 06 but was unaware of this site, I am just buying the new 08 frame and a new fork, all my other parts will be put on the new frame.
For various reasons I didn't ride my 575 for nearly 10 months so thought I would try some of the competition before commiting to the new 08 575. I had a demo on the Pace RC405 and Heckler, didn't rate the Pace at all but the Heckler came very close.
Once again thanks for the info, I will pass on this info to LL and hopefully I will soon be the proud new owner of an 08 575.
I am from Rotherham so just cheking if there are any other 575 owners in the area.

No tyre clearance issues with a Continental Gravity 2.3 on the back of my 08 575 Richard. I think you'll be safe with your current tyres.
