Hi guys, just tought I would say hello. My black 575 is getting ordered tomorrow (insurance repacement) cant wait to build it up, sticking 2008 XT, Fulcrum Red Metal 3 wheelset, Fox 32 Vanilla RLC and will be upgrading seatpost etc wen finances allow. Can't wait to get started. Any idea what the wait is like for a small 575 in black with a Carbon rear end?

I think there is one small black in the country at the moment, but the next delivery should be within the next month.
I have the pleasure of building two small 575's this week, watch this space for the blingest Pewter 575 you will ever see!

hey marmite 71, thanks for the comments, I wanted something a bit different to the usual Hope/Mavic/DT Swiss set up as I had Hope Hoops on my old bike. The Vans seems very plush so far, just put the heavier spring in as I am a fat knacker but so far they seem very controlled and tuneable, they iron out the trail nicely and seem just as stiff as my Old Pikes which ran a bolt through axle.

Cheers for the reply badblood, with the pre08 575 a Talas would be the fork of choice ,but with the 08 corrected for 140mm forks a fixed 140mm fork would be the one too go for and being a lazy sod when it comes to bike maintance,a coil sprung fork is the route for me as lower maintance is a better trade off than the extra 0.5 lbs wieght penalty .Although i've talked myself into waiting until the new 15mm bolt through forks arrive

cheers Marmite, TBH I would have probably stuck another set of Pikes on but a - they were too expensive and b- the Fulcrums don't take a bolt through allthough they are 20mm axle bodies so I might be mistaken but I ccouldn't find any info on it. Still loving the ride even if the black ano is a beeaattch to keep looking spic and span. Still itching to buy more nice shiny stuff for it but aint got the money :-(

Know how u feel, the money allways runs out before the end of the build. At least your out there on the trails , I'm going for the painted turq, the black ano looked like hard work ,Brothers alloy niaota is almost the same finish and he says it a bit of a mare! Most ano frames seam to be matt finish??, never had that problem with my cherry red (looks more like dark pink) ano ltd ed zaskar How do the mountain kings ride ? (what sort of trails r u riding) Paul

Black ano just means I have to clean it properly so not really a bad thing. Mountain Kings ride fine if a little heavy, just swapped them out for my old Vertical Protections and lost a bit of weight to boot. Mainly ride local trails in Hamsterley Forest mixed with a bit of (low) NS, also do trail centres when I can, they seem to roll pretty well over most stuff but are lacking a little when cranked right over.
