I'd go with Thomson, I think they are the only parts to match Chris King for quality.

I cant believe you would have any Thomson kit at all, it is overpriced rubbish, Ritchey is in a different league to Thomson,
the Thomson stem is the most fiddly piece of crap I have ever had the misfortune of fitting to a bike, the Ritchey kit is totally bomb proof, its lighter, better designed, better made and lasts a hell of a lot longer, people need to get over Thomson and the stupid bent seat posts, which simply offer the same lay back as a standard post, just because Thomson has some machining marks people think its some hand finished piece of quality kit, but its not, if you want a higher strength finish the shot peening on Ritchey strengthens the material and looks better (IMO), but hey if you want to pay top money for Thomson I wont stop you.

Currently broke 3 Raceface posts(XY- XY0- Evolve) to 0 Thomson, currently using 2x Thomson.(Elite and Masterpiece)
Stems, I have had loads of RaceFace, but think the thomson are far better quality, but I love the old Diablos stems.
Working in the Engineering industry, I prefer the Thomson over Raceface anyday. I like how they have the Torque settings etched onto their products.
I have not seen the top Ritchey stuff, but I had a cheapo ritchey item on my old Canondale Tandem, if they are willing to put their name to crap like that, then I have no interest in their product. Thats not to say the expensive stuff is no good...............

I would say Thomson, both Aspire and Merlin have some great deals and i've never had any issues with any of their kit. Yes it may be slightly heavier, but functionally they are great seatposts and stems. Ritchey stuff is good but I would choose Thomson for fit and forget confidence.

been using Ritchey kit nor for 20 years and have never broken a single item, so I guess its robust enough for most riding. As I am sure Thomson is, its just Ritchey is my preferred choice especially the WCS carbon bars and seatpost.
