Hi guys,
I'm new to the forum, my name's James, and I'm considering buying a Yeti 575 (2007). I've been riding a steel Cove hardtail for a few years now but have decided to make a change to full suss.
I've been offered a 07 575 in pretty good condition cosmetically with a Fox RP23 shock and a set of (presumably) 2007 140mm Pikes for £300 ($470 approx). It seems like a pretty decent price but I was wondering what the general Yeti community thought to this particular model. From what I've read online it sounds like its a pretty decent ride even by today's standards but if anyone has one I'd love to get their take on how it measures up to more modern frames.
I also had a couple of questions regarding that particular frame - First of all I believe the Fox RP23 has 120mm of travel and as the shock in question here apparently will need a service in the next few months, I wondered if I could change it out for something with a little more travel - 140mm perhaps. The manual online for this bike talks about setting up both the RP23 and the DHX air 5 - which implies to me that a longer travel shock can be fitted but I wasn't sure if anything extra was required.
Secondly I was wondering if this frame came with swappable rear dropouts so I can run a 142x12 rear axle set up?
Thanks and look forward to hearing a little more about this bike!

Hi, bit old skool now. Rear travel is 140
You can fit any non coil fox shock
You'll need to find a 27.2 dropper post if you want one.
No you can't use 142x12.

thanks for the info Andrew. I have a dropper that will fit that so thats not really an issue. I was concerned mainly that it would be a bit too old skool. I'll probably check it over in the flesh anyway..
