Hey all, I'm just wanting to find out the weight of some 575 builds. I'm thinking my 575 is a bit fat at 31lbs and needs a diet? So could you please tell me the weight of your 575 please just to get some ideas. Cheers Rob

Not super lights but reliable :
25lbs with pedals for the 575 2009 of my wife (S size / Float 32 Fork / Blacklite Seatpost / CK hubs + Crest / XX1 / X01) 28lbs for my 2009's 575 (M size / Float 36 / Blacklite seatpost / CK Hubs with ZTR Flow / XX1 / X01)
How is your 575 build ?

Ah right so mine is a little bit over weight!
Spec wise it's
2011 frame medium Xt 10 speed double ring up front Rock shox revelation RL's 15mm Hope m4's Raceface turbine double and bash with ti bottom bracket Easton haven alu bars/yeti grips Thomson stem/ seat post Hope headset Mavic xc717 straight pull on hope pro2 evo Continental mountain king/ rubber queen tyres Sdg bel air ti saddle Dmr v12 mag pedals
I think that's it
I was thinking about changing the bars to the carbon versions and putting dmr vaults on it that would help a bit but is quite costly.

At a quick guess, the majority of your weight is in your tyres and crankset. I would recommend going tubeless with a lighter tyre (Geax Saguaro?) and getting a Shimano SLX crankset. Carbon bars would help, look at Answer Taperlite Carbon or similar. Depends on the required width. I got my 2007 575 (L) down to 26lbs although that was with 450g tyres.

Yeah, I've looked into the weight of the rubber queen 2.2 and that's 850g, due to the rubbish mud clearance on the rear I run a mountain king and they're 620g. The chainset is staying though it cost a fair whack to buy! I am looking in to the 2014 dmr v12 mag as they weigh 350g down from 434g also I'm looking into easton haven carbon bars as it would be a 100g loss with those fitted.
I've also looked into the cost of changing those and it's going to be around the £175 mark! Hmmm not cheap.

2009 medium with XT crank and American Classic wheels - 28.5lbs. Not sure it would ride any better if it was lighter.

Mine's a bit of a porker at 31 lb ... but I have never bought a single component based on weight... usually looking at longevity/robustness to (hopefully) get me down rocky Scottish and Lakeland descents (and Alps in a few weeks - yippee).
2011 Large with Pikes Old Hope hoops (DT5.1) with tubed High Roller/DHF Mostly XT 10 spd geartrain but with old M970 as double/bash. Gravity Dropper, alu bars/stem and CB Mallets

Well I've bought a set of carbon havens and some new 2014 v12 mag pedals, thinking about changing the front tyre to a conti mountain king 2, from what I can gather 160 grams lighter than the 2.2 rubber queen. Anything else I can do?

I would say if you could save some weight on your wheels you'll notice more of a weight saving there than anywhere else as it's rotational weight. Tyres are a good start. When components get smaller the weight saving will get less and the cost will get greater. Don't get too hung up on the weight. I doubt a 500g saving will make you ride a lot quicker.

Yeah, I guess your right, another reason for changing the pedals was I'm sick of catching them on the ground due to the low bb height, I'm hoping the thinner profile of the new style v12's might help. Tyre wise I'm now looking at panaracer fire xc pro but won't be changing them until it needs them.
