Just wanted to introduce myself and say hi. Just getting into the sport as running is no longer a long term option due to some knee issues. Wasn't really all that thrilled with most of the new bikes in general, so I picked up a 1999 FRO Alloy yesterday from the original owner in about 100% original condition as far as I can tell other than the seat, pedals and some Scott handle bar extensions. Even the tires are original and I think the bike saw a lot of garage time.
I welcome any input and suggestions on the sport and my bike. Here are a few pictures of the new ride.....
I live in S. Jersey and look forward to being part of the site.

Thanks guys. Def wanted to get a hand built frame made in the US. Found the last of the breed. And for $200 I think I stole it. Almost hate to upgrade it with new components it's such a time capsule. No matter what else I do tho the paint def stays!!

I have same frame/ bike in UK and its earlier than 99 - my frame was shipped from the states to oxford in 1997/98- its still going strong with various upgrades to saddle and forks - marzocchi forks upfront and a cable disc brake - rear wheel still V brake but XT like most of the components - its a bike I built and wont part with and I never see another one in the UK - It often gets ridden as preference over my scott LT 20 genius full sus and it loves fast single track.

Update on my yeti fro - reverted whole bike back to v brakes felt weird with a disc on front not right for the old girl. I have upgraded front mech and chainset to xt and gone from 7 to 9 on the rear cassette still in keeping with the era of the bike. running panaracer fire xc 2.1 tyres its still a great ride.
