A new forum user, and a new and very proud owner of an '08 575. A question for you knowledgeable chaps and chapess - Are my Forks too short? I have transplanted from my old Santa Cruz a set of Rock Shox Revelations 80 to 130mm (I don't drop the travel unless I'm riding up something very steep - or at least trying to....) but when set to 130mm, and turning in to tight slow switch backs, or just turning tight and slow generally, I find the steering tends to 'drop in' to the turn. I have read a few bike spec's on the website and most seem to run a fork 140 - 160mm -can anyone recommend the correct fork length (or hub to crown length)
cheers....

Chris, Yeti made the geometry for the bike to work with a 140-160mm fork. I don't really understand what you mean by 'drop in' but I wouldn't like to run less than 130mm.

They should be 140mm ideally.
I will measure my 140's and get you an axle to crown size.

Thanks for info chaps - F.Y.I. when turning left or right the front wheel has a tendency to turn quickly into the turn and the top tube drops slightly. If the forks are too short, guess I'll have to spend some more money... ho well what forks are you guys using?

As has been said ,the 08 575 is corrected for 140-160mm forks (fox Forks) but your correct in saying about the crown to axle length, thats the one you need to check if your worried . This will be the measurement that will give you your front end height/head,seat angles . fox float 140mm are quoted at axle/crown 515mm in an old mag i had . I wouldn't get too stessed with it though, if your short of cash after the build run what you've got until you can afford some new forks The 2009 revelations are 140mm with maxle light axle or maybe 2009 fox float 140's with 15qr (There white next year -Does that mean the 575 will be in white next year ) hope this is of some help Paul

Hi Chris, like you I've just become the proud owner of a new 575 and well chuffed with it I am too. I've got a set of RockShox 454 Pike Air U-Turn Bolt through 140mm's up front and they seem to be ideally suited although they are still a bit sticky as they haven't really been 'run-in' yet. I got these on the advise of a mate who had them fitted to a 2007 Yeti and he really rated them, no problems climbing (can wind them down if you want)and superb on the downy stuff and I have found them the same. Might be worth considering,
