Hi guys, Interesting to know how many many more people are in my situation?? I bought a brand new SB-66 3 weeks ago and have cracked it in four places, The thing must be made of cheese!! One big crack around a weld on the swing arm, and three cracks on the rocker, located where the shock would mount on and also in the bearing seat. I have sent the bike back to the shop and am now waiting to hear what yeti have to say.
Its also worth me say that a friend of mine has also cracked his swing arm twice, having it replaced both times and also his rocker once as well. When he sent his back the first time he was told it wasnt an issue, apparently only four in the country had ever been sent back. I find that hard to believe as mine cracked within three weeks of owning it.
I must also say that other than the fact that i broke the bike so easily, It was an amazing machine to ride, best bike i've ever ridden but I just cant believe It broke so easily!!
If anyone else has had any problems like this it would be cool to hear what yeti had to say? I have a feeling they may blame it on a faulty batch but I wont believe it lol..

Not heard of any, been riding mine for 9 months and know people of a similar time, no problems.
Would be interested to see pictures to back up the thread.

As Andrew said, it'd be interesting to see some back up for the claim. Give the extent of the damage you're talking about, I doubt very much that it's happened JRA.
A mate of mine has one which he absolutely ragged at the megavalanche (finished in the top 100 overall- so he wasn't exactly taking it easy on the bike) and there seem to be plenty of other people doing the same without issue.
Yeti are taking a lot of heat on forums at the moment about bikes cracking, but i think it's more a case of the loud minority having a whinge and everyone else jumping on the bandwagon "oh yeah I've heard this has happened loads and I'm angry about it" so on, so forth...

everyone ive spoken to about their sb66 frames, have been excellent no problems what so ever, really cant see have you can break a sb66 frame if im honest,
best and most stable frame ever im my opinion and ive had a good few bikes in the past few years, as work in a bike shop.
photos will be good to see if you have cracked it

Yep will do, I took the bike back to LBS and they said it should be around 3 days if silverfish have them in stock. We will see!

I've seen and heard of some taking some serious abuse, so it's not a common fault at all.

My cracked swingarm is with lbs. they say around a week but not sure how long. They say it's not the 1st sb66 they had back. Is this common and if it happens again am I in my rights to get refund on frame. Losing confidence in it now.

I'd have more confidence in a bike backed up by a quick turnaround if things do break than a new bike and unknown after sales service.
I've just joined this board as I'm this weekend building up my new SB66C and I'm totally relaxed about issues as big bike companies are used to teething problems and will usually sort them out. A lot of new sales are based on the brand reputation and Yeti will be fully aware of this of course.
The fact is we all want ultra light frames we can abuse to Hell and back without an issue. Things will break and things can get fixed. No one would expect an off road car to run 100% without faults so why bikes are considered differently is odd.
If Yeti honour warranty and replace the damaged part quickly, I'd consider that a reason for loyalty not to change my allegiance.

I'd also add, the extent of the damage alleged JRA sounds like a lot and bike companies not questioning this but replacing parts that may well have been thrown down a hillside in a big spill is above and beyond really.
The OP might well have a duff one or he might actually be looking for a free replacement for some huge ragdoll moment, I don't know but I'd bet a lot of warranty repairs bike companies honour are a result of abuse and goes some way to explain why they need a decent profit margin to cover after sales issues.

Good news. New swingarm here. Lbs (Certinis) have Been fitting it today and will be finshing tomorrow. 1 week!! Pretty good. My only thing is lbs say I have to pay labour for taking swingarm off and refitting bearings and swingarm. My bike is only 4 mths old. Is this normal to have to pay for labour on a warranty?? They say they don't know how much longer it will take tomorrow. Seems odd!
