Hi All, What would you all advise? I have a Rockhopper which is about 98% upgraded. The time has come to go to a full bounce but which one? I would be swapping all the kit over. 575 or ASR? My main component issue is I have the RS Revelation coil 85mm to 130mm forks, I can not afford to change these as well. The other option is to go to a Stumpy (sorry for the bad language ), a bike I'm familiar with with. I ride approx 80% XC but want a bike that will do me well on the Welsh trails. I'm not a jump demon but a bike that would give me more confidence on jumps would be a plus. Thanks all.

HI Martin,
without knowing you, or your riding area its hard to say, but I guess from what you say, you ride more than race, and enjoy a bit of gravity fun at the Welsh trail centers.
I would say 575 08 all day long, mine is awesome, truly amazing, I love it so much you can't imagine! Brilliant!
As for your forks, the Fox 140mm floats are 510mm axle to crown, measure your RS on full travel, and see what you get, if its about that height (fox are low for the travel), then your in the right sort of area to put them right on a 575.

Welcome Martin,
I'd go along with what Andrews said
If when you mean xc ,you mean 80% Racing then i'd go with an ASR .But if you mean riding your local trails then go for the 575. The 575 will be a better bike for the trail centers wales etc . You can build it up as hardcore or as lite as you like to suit your needs (might mean upgrading again).
Thought for the day *if God didn't want us riding mountain bikes he wouldn't have invented credit cards*

I ride an 07 ASR and it's a great bike, perfect for racing and actually quite tough I have thrown it around quite a bit, in Bubion with Switch-backs it handled everything that the 6" boys could ride, but it was on the limit. So I'm moving onto a 575 08, Mostly due to just about everyone who's ridden one going crazy for it, especially Andrew. What forks are you riding on your 575 Andrew?

I was lucky, I got a xmas bonus last week so I decided to go for a new 575. It was either that or let my wife waste it on a new bathroom!
I put some slightly longer forks on my ASR, some Fox 120RLCs which has changed the ride a bit, slightly less XC race.

I have some float RLC 140's on my 575.
If you already have an ARC, then the ASR might be a little close in its set up, but with rear travel.
I'd go for 575 everytime for riding, its just so good now.

Thanks all for your advice.
My RS are measuring 508mm Axle to crown, so i think it will have to be the 575. Just need to find a bargain now. Looks like I missed out on the Rutland Cycles offer though.
Thanks again.
Happy new year to you all.
