Hi Guys n' Gals.....
I have a 575 Turk (2008) painted frame and am seeing the paint chip off the edges of the top tube very easily. I thought I may be being careless (unlikely as I am tying to be careful with the most expensive bike I have ever bought !) but then I saw a frame (not yet) built in my local shop with a chip in an IDENTICAL location on the top tube. !!!!!!!!!
Any of you folks experiencing the same issue ? ? ?

HI there! My ARC 08' frame has this problem as well. It is at the top edge of the seat tube. It happened while trying to change the seat clamp to other type. Once it is chipped, do not meddle with it or it will get worse. Wonder why they choose this type of paint quality.

I wonder if all Yeti's are being painted at Spectrum Powder Works in Colorado. I thought that all the bikes were painted there in the past, but not sure about the 2008 bikes. Judging from the photos at www.spectrumpowderworks.com/ it's hard to imagine this place turning out sub-par work for a company like Yeti or any company for that matter.

The frames are painted in Taiwan where they are made.
As for paint quality, I would say that it is superior to most manufacturers.

When I take the seat clamp off, the white undercoat shows where a chip of turq has come away. Funny thing is when I put the seat clamp back on, the white bit disappears. Most curious. Think I can live with that. If a bike ain't chipped then it's not being used properly.
