I just started building my ARC AS-3 (1999 frame) and wonder what forks I should be fitting?
I have the choice of Manitou SX-R's or Palmer SX-Ti's, RS Jucy DH, or White Bros SC72's.
I guess the important question is the length of fork - will this frame take more than 80mm travel?

80 is about right, but I seem to remember some of the later Coil shocked models having triple clamps, some Judy LT's I think. They were 100mm.
I'd say min 80- max 100 ish.

I built a 1998 ARC AS3 with a 2004 Manitou Skareb Platinum 100mm fork and it works very well. I think 1997 - 1999 used the same frame.
On another note, the 99 came with the SID shock I believe. My 98 has the RockShok Coupe Deluxe. I am trying to determine if the seat stay mount for both 98 and 99 are the same since I want to change out my shock for the SID .... air has a few more options.
Can you post a closeup picture of your mount?
