As the title states, super rare early 2000's Yeti Arc Titanium / Ti with Loop Stays. No more than 20 or so made. Hand-made in Golden, CO by Roberto Vega. This is not the one outsourced to and made by Sandvik for Yeti (also rare but not as rare as this) This was made in-house at the Yeti factory.
Excellent condition. No dents. It's titanium.
Purchased directly from Chuck Dunlap, who used to be the lead designer for Yeti. If you are a Yeti fan you'll probably find the history of this bike quite interesting. Below is direct from Chuck himself:
As you may know, the full tubular loop tails are signature Yeti. When I started designing for Yeti, there were only two of these frames out there - they were made by Schwinn, and were made with smaller diameter tubing and a bit more spindley looking than this one. After I designed the new ARC for Yeti in 2000, I then designed this frame with the same proportions as that aluminum version.
Then we started making them... or trying. The tubes and dropouts are all Ti, and tougher than hell to work with. We formed the tubing, then had our legendary Roberto Vega weld it in Golden, CO. The welding alignment was so hard to control, so it required some manual alignment. It was our first twenty or so that we started aligning and about every one was very difficult to align. So we had to give up and scrap them all... except for best one that I grabbed. We went back to the drawing board, redesigned the looptail as a machined dropout, and outsourced all the production on it.
Measurements (I'm not an expert though):
Top Tube: 22 inches
Seat Tube: 17.5 inches
Shipping: If you're outside the US, I will need to get a quote for delivery and get back to you. If you're in the US, shipping will be $40.
