Hi all, First post on here, so thought I'd post a bit about my current project! I got into biking in the mid 90s whilst a young teenager, flicking through MBUK and Dirt on a regular basis. I got a Trek 800 and proceeded to modify it to the extent where the only original part was the frame! It got nicked while at uni in 2004, and I gave up on biking (I know, stupid man...) and threw myself into rugby... Anyway. in 2007, I bought a Giant Ranier, with actual disc brakes (wow), and used it to pootle about the place. After getting inured and unable to continue playing rugby, I decided to re-fit some knobbly tyres and head out to see if I could still remember how to fall off. I can! Long story short(ish), I bought a used Yeti 575 from Flatout Cycles, and am currently restoring and building it up into a fun AM bike. Spec will be (pics to follow): Frame powdercoated in blue sparkle (bling) Mavic am rims and hope hubs 160mm rockshox lyrik solo air XT Rd and shifters (1x10 set up) race face evolve cranks and bb slx brakes other bits and bobs... Here's how it arrived: Strip down begins: Fresh powder coat... Oh look! Some shiny new bits have arrived! I'll keep you posted...if anyone's interested! Scott/Robbo

Will do! Hopefully will be all pit together this week barring any problems! Itching to get out and ride it! Btw...this site is amazing! I'm convinced I shall be a Yeti man from now on. Not sure how happy my bank manager will be about that though...

Update time! Pretty much done now, just waiting on a shimano brake bleed kit t sort the brakes out then I can go for a test run! Did a short trip round the block (with no brakes) to check the indexing - seems pretty much spot on. Sag etc set as well, and adjusted the stem/bars and saddle accordingly. The parts - the lbs set the headset for me as I very nearly botched it with a home-made bearing press. Glad they could sort it!! Fork an wheel on. Cutting the steerer tube was nerve-wracking! As was setting the star nut, but all went smoothly in the end. Took my time! Sorry for the blurry images - taken on my phone (couldn't find the camera). Cranks and rear mech on. Nearly there now...new bars cut down from 800mm to 765mm. Easier to steer through trees I reckon... Nearly all done! All that's left is brake hoses to be shortened and bled, and final cable routing to be sorted. Then set saddle height etc and get out there! More updates to follow when the brakes are sorted and it's been cleaned down and set up. Looking forward to getting to know the tribe a little better too. If anyone's about at Cannock Chase in the UK, I'd love to meet up for a ride Cheers
