So I'm stoked to have a new Yeti in the shed. I sold my 2012 SB66 due to finding it a bit much bike for the trails I ride and reading so many glowing reports about the ASR-5C. I managed to snag the last one in the country (NZ) and this is how I built it up. Medium frame Fox Float 34 CTD (to be dropped to 140mm) XT Brakes, with Brake Authority rotors XT Crankset with WolfTooth 32t XX1 style chainring XTR rear shifter Zee Rear Derailleur - wide ratio XT Cassette 12-36t DT Swiss 350 hubs with some old Mavic XM317 rims I had lying around Rock Shox Reverb Post - 5" travel Renthal Bar - 740mm, 20mm rise and Duo Stem - 50mm ODI Grips, Charge Spoon saddle, Cane Creek headset and Maxxis rubber round out the build. Built up like this, it weighs 27lb, which is pretty good considering it's got the reverb and heavy bar/stem combo. I haven't ridden it in anger yet, but carpark shredding tells me I definitely need to drop the fork to 140mm (possibly even 130mm) to get the best out of bike. It also tells me I've made the right choice. No other bike has got me this excited to ride it, not even the phenomenal SB66. It looks pretty, weighs in at a reasonable weight and just "feels" awesome. Happy days!

Cheers Andrew.
Have you got any pointers for setting up the rear shock? I hear it can be a hit or miss affair? I've set it up so far using the Fox Suspension app, but it has minimal sag. From what I read, that is normal?

I ran my '5' with 120mm forks and it was spot on. Any bigger than 140mm and I reckon you'll be ruining the geometry.
Lovely looking bike!

Completely agree Elastictangent.
Just ordered 2x 10mm travel reduction spacers for the fork. Out of interest, how much do you weigh and how much pressure do you run in your rear shock?

I've not got my 5 anymore, I moved to an SB66C. I can't remember how much pressure I used to run at the back. It never felt plush, more like a more comfortable hard tail if that makes any sense.
I'm 12 stone and I used the 25% sag rule and then just played around adding or removing 10 PSI at a time.
