So, I'm having a little dilemma... I have a 575 on order (set to arrive next week)... I was able to demo this year's ASR5 but not the 575. My impression of the 5 was that it climbed pretty well (of course all climbs suck!) but on the downhill I found I just wanted a little more "plush-ness." The 5 seemed kinda twitchy on the downhill so I decided I wanted the 575 so I could mow through the decends... but I haven't had a chance to ride the 575 I'm getting mixed reviews... I have some people telling me to "go with the 5 because unless you're hucking off massive jumps, you don't need the extra travel, and it'll climb much better than the 575." Whadya think? How is the 575 for climbing? ? I know they re-designed the rear triangle for this year's to be little stiffer, so does this help? How is the pedal bob action? does it just suck on the 575 or what?? I would consider the new SuperBike66 if only they made it in my size =( I need an XS... My riding style is that I mainly cross country ride but also have access to a gondola for downhilling... If there's a feature to drop, I want to hit it, not just ride around it... I would like a bike that I am not killing my self unnecessarily on the climbs but can haul ass on the downhills, yet if I want to enter in a few races here and there, I'll still be able to hold my own on the climbs... passing people on the downhills So the debate is between an ASR-5 or 575... advice??

When you talk about your style of riding it sounds like the 575 would suit you perfectly. If you enjoy dropping off stuff and taking the harder lines then that extra bit of travel should help at the slight dissadvantage on the really steep climbs because of the ASR's shorter fork. As for pedal bob, I've never noticed anything on my 575. It feels like the perfect suspension set up to me. Great all round bike.
