I have a 2016 SB6 with a full XT drivetrain. It has a 34 tooth chainring in the front and a 11-46 eleven speed cassette in the back. I can't really recall when I first noticed it but when I switch to the 46 tooth cassette there is a noticeable noise and drag as the angle of the chain is pretty extreme from the chainring to the cassette cog. When I have the bike on the stand and spin the crank with the chain on the 46 cog, it drags so much it barely goes around 1/2 turn after I let go of the pedal. I have tried to adjust the set screw but it is back out all the way so the derailleur is all the way towards the wheel that it can go, when I adjust it more towards the outside of the bike, it just shifts it to the 37 cog. I can't really see anything out of sorts on the bike and am not sure if this is just how the SB6 works with Shimano's XT 1x drivetrain. If anyone has any information on this build and how the drivetrain works, I will appreciate it.
Thank you. Dale

That seems to be a problem with the 46T cassette. It's a bot rough compared to Shimano's usual slick stuff. You're not the first to complain.
