Hi there Peeps, after a bit of help/advice on my ASR5.
There has been a bit of play in the back end of the trusty steed, you know that knock knock feeling. Thought it was just the shock bushings but on closer inspection the play is coming from one of the seatstays on the swing arm. Upon closer inspection, the play is in the lug/bushing/hole that is in the casting at the top of the seatstay (the one that the dogbone bolt goes through). There seems to be a collar inside the casting that is spinning round and has the play. Though it won't come out......yet.
Have checked the owners manual and it appears that there are no replaceable parts in that area.
So the question is has anyone had a similar issue that they've managed to sort out or some advice as to any solutions.
Cheers y'all.
Jonny

New rear end I think is what you are looking at.
Heard of a few being warrantied for this issue.
Ask your local dealer to take a look.

I have the same exact problem and it is killing me! As you experienced, I first thought it was the shock bushings. Replaced those but still play in the rear. Replaced all bearings, then mounting hardware, still play. This has been going off and on for about a year or so, so I brought it in to my local bike mechanic to ask his opinion. He immediately noticed the play in the rear and could feel that it was coming from the pivot between the seat stays and the dogbone/shock. He recommended that I add a small (1-2 mm) washer and that should hopefully tighten it up a bit. I did that and the play was gone. 100 miles later, the play was back so I added another washer. Again this seemed to fix the problem but only temporarily.
One thing that I have noticed is that if I take a hex wrench and try to tighten the bolt without using a hex on the opposing side, I can get the whole thing to rotate pretty easily without the bolt tightening up. If i do this mid ride it seems to fix the problem for a few mils, but the play then returns.
Honestly I have been out of ideas of how to fix this issue, not until reading this post that it all starts to make sense. Please keep us updated on what happens (DIY fixes, yeti warranty etc.)
thanks!

I too have had this same issue and had the rear end replaced under warranty. Bike is back to its best. I'd be speaking to your shop / dealer. Good luck.

Morning Gents,
Thanks for the help y'all.
It would appear that the part in question is non replaceable/fixable as suggested by Andrew.
Think we're on exactly the same page ejhorn. The temporary tightening of the afformentioned part is very familiar to me. Think it just rotates it a bit to a flush position then works it's way back to play.
Matt at Silverfish has been more than helpful about trying to see what gives and I have taken the frame to Rutland Cycles to see where we go from here.
Hopefully, it'll be a warranty and I'll be back on the trails soon.
They're just so dry and calling my name.
Cheers again.

She's back!!
All sorted with a lovely new carbon swingarm under warranty.
Have to say a big thanks to Matt at Silverfish and John at Rutland Cycles for sorting it out.
Seems like the two year warranty was nicely flexible in my direction which I know they could have stuck to quite easily and help empty the bank account.
So big up to Yeti for a bit of Tribe Karma.
