Hi All. HELP PLEASE!
I stripped my SB66c today for it's 1st bearing change on swingarm/switchlink etc. It's been clunking for a while and know that I should have replaced a while ago but always something else to do and just been jumping on bike and heading out. Anyway all went well until it came to the main switchlink bearings.
The off driveside bearing was completely disintigrated and just came out in bits apart from what looks like the outer bearing ring and the inner bearing ring, the inner bearing ring is pretty much bonded to the switch link and I'm not 100% sure but it looks like the outer ring is bonded into the frame, see attached pics, I'm pretty sure that this is the outer steel ring of the bearing stuck inside the frame but the bearing came out in so many bits I'm just not sure. Sorry for my lack of knowledge but I'm no mechanical specialist.
Any feedback to confirm the above suspicions and how the hell I can get these bits out of the frame and off the switchlink would be appreciated as I just can't figure it out as there's nothing to get leverage on or any lip etc to push them out/off. I've also attached a pic of the bump stop bolt which looks like it's taken a bit of punishment, the condom was shredded and there's a fair amount of gouges on the switchlink where this bolt has been obviously hitting it.
Any thoughts, is this just a case of biting the bullet and ordering a complete new switchlink and bolt, the bit that concerns me more is the outer part of the bearing that's bonded into the frame (If that's what it is?). I already purchased the condom from the shop at the same time as the new bearings.
