I've had my SB66C since July 2012, its a 2013 model (i.e. CTD Shock) - but I'm thinking its probably one of the first ones in the UK (considering I ordered it in Nov 2011). A couple of weeks back I was cleaning it after a pretty muddy ride and noticed that the outer skin of the Carbon had started to peel away on the swingarm. The actual area is on the driveside lower arm boss where the main pivot axle engages, I think the correct term for what has happened is de-lamination?
This area is well protected from everything, so no danger of rock strikes etc as it is tucked behind the front mech.
I immediately took the bike in to the LBS where I purchased the frame and they were brilliant, contacting Silverfish who passed the issue onto Yeti - they are supplying a new swingarm FOC, but Silverfish have none so waiting for one to be shipped from the U.S.
Anyone else had this problem?

Actually, yes. The exact same problem.
Preordered bike in Nov 2011. Delivered late August 2012. So it was one of the first smalls available.
Yeti warrantied it immediately.

Mine is exactly the same but my LBS told me it was fine. I think I'll go back and ask again.

Can't believe the LBS told you it was OK, it makes you wonder if all the rear triangles on these first UK bikes have problem - not good with a 2 year warranty. I bet no-one from Yeti wants to comment......

Don't think anybody from Yeti checks here very often. Glad it was sorted fast in most cases, and hope the other gets sorted!

Yes I can't argue with the Service, they agreed to replace the part no problem.(although it's 3 and a half weeks now and still waiting for the arm to arrive). All I'm wondering is - I use my bike a lot (I'm one of the 1 bike that does everything brigade)and my swing arm failed after 16 months - for someone who bought their frame around the same time as me (and maybe the same swing arm manufacturing batch), but only rides a couple of times a week their frame could easily be out of warranty long before the problem arises on their bike. I'd just like to think that if YETI know something about the quality of the early swing arms they would re-call the batch or at least make their distributors/dealers aware so any suspect arms could be checked.
p.s. I still love my Yeti and will be interested to see what you think of the SB75 when you've had it a while.

Pretty sure all of the raw black carbon frames are the same finish? i put a difference in the ones i see to a bit of photoshopping!
It's like in the new Dirt magazine 100 2014 they have a sb66c, but it is pictured has having an even colour of matt black not the roughish join mould marks in places like mine! Is it me or does anybody think there carbon frame looks a little unrefined? am i supposed to be able to see three big wraps of i take it carbon bonding the head tube to top and down tubes? And its my first carbon frame so nothing to compare really!

Just an update to my original post - I have my bike back now with complete with new swingarm - as I said previously I can't fault the brilliant service from my LBS (JD Cycles - Ilkley)or Yeti, really happy to get it back after spending 4 weeks on a 2005 SWorks Stumpy FSR I can tell you suspension technology has come a long way in 8 years (unless you ride an Orange 5).
I'm pretty sure anybody getting a new frame now won't have a problem - if you're looking for a 'gloss' look I think Invisiframe comes in gloss as well as Matte.
Maff125 my frame is from July 2012 and the surface finish of the frame is totally smooth matt black, if you get it in a certain light you can see the wraps, but as I have put invisiframe on mine you can't see it now.
Merry Xmas everybody - looking forward to 2014's dry dusty trails :-)

Yeah your right badland575, mine is exactly the same as in i can see the wraps in certain lights/angles, doesn't spoil the aesthetics of a lovely frame though:-)
Hopefully get out on mine today, but might be a bit of road work, not fun
