Hi everyone, please could you help ? I need to locate a pot of yeti team turquoise touch-up paint or the code to have some made. Received my 575 (full turquoise) last week and took her out onto Mam Tor Figure of 8 in the Peak District to let rip and grazed the bottom of the down tube. Whilst not a serious injury I'm gutted that my lack of technical knowhow has led to a minor scuff 1st time out !! Love this bike and would appreciate your help. Thankyou..an inexperienced yeti mountain biker !!!

Hi,
Sorry to hear about your scuff.
The closest match i have found to the newer Yeti's is this:
Ral 5018 Turquoise blue
It is pretty much smack on!!
There is an old datsun colour that you can have mixed up but i can't remember the code or colour description. You could try asking Andrew, i think he has mentioned it before now.
Either way, i would get it mixed in a 2 pack acrylic and use a 2 pack acrylic laquer with a hardner but make sure you are prepped up and painted before you buy the hardner as it will only last around a day at most until it starts to go off.
You should be able to get these mixed up into aerosols at any car paint suppliers at around £8 a go.
Hope this helps and good luck.

Thankyou so much for your reply. My spirits have been lifted...washing away the mud and grime from Mam Tor yesterday left me with that sinking feeling as the scuff was all too evident. It may not seem so bad to others but I could have cried...anyhow thanks again....will get the paint ordered and let you know how I get on.....!!!

Datsun/Nissan Turquoise 225 has been reported as the colour, as well as RAL 5018.
But why bother? Wear your scars with pride!

The datsun paint and the Ral dont quite match, I had to get some specially made, and now keep a nice pot in the shop, let me know if you want some

If you have enough to spare I will definately take up your offer....Fagus suggests I wear the scars with pride and I'm sure over time I will, but think it best to repair this particular bit of grazing....my e-mail address is paul-grindle@hotmail.co.uk....thanks a million Eddy....hadn't fully realised what these bikes mean to the Tribe but am learning fast...!!!!

i started another thread pondering which colour frame to buy, does this provide further evidence that the ano frames may be a wiser choice, ie buying with the head and not the heart?

in my experience I'd always go painted.
Just get some frame saver tape.
But then the Ano does look pretty smart too.
